Road to Pilani... (part two)

This year, the road to Pilani,

Seemed strikingly easy unlike the past

And with swift motions we reached the train

And set off for a fun trip to beat the last

Taking complete joy in being THE senior

I ragged ALL my juniors, much against their plans

Made them sing and dance all the way

And discovered some Asha Bhonsles and Ekta Kapoor fans

While the voice of one had us reach for the tissues

The K for kadam factor had us in splits

And then there was just a little booty dance

To make sure our flagging spirits, did uplift!

The boys bonded all happy and GAY

Giving us but teasers to the films being shot in the dorms

Amusing and disgusting us in equal ways

Was the nascent homo-love being born!

And then we hit the courts as soon as we landed

And stretched our limbs out thin

But still found time to spare

To spread around and try our every whim

As the games rolled on galore

We met and laughed with a million strangers

And showed off our strong cheers for D.Y

Pushing the nights to stretch a little longer!

The nights were trenched in bouts of joy

Over long-awaited meals we laughed and cried

And rode those bicycles through streets of mystery

Till, with exhaustion, we lay back on the bed and sighed

And soon, before you knew it, the day came

When with heavy hearts and sluggish steps

We bid adieu to each other

With promises of an encore on everyone’s lips!

Bang-hicc-lore! yeah!

I don't know what it is that made me go
So tizzy, the lack of food, sleep or too much alcohol
But I'm still reeling in the effects of this
One place called Bengaluru to which
I dedicate this valiant attempt to write
In the shadows of Mr. Dham who cried!
Now THAT I know, for sure, was caused
By too much alcohol and Jeet's bawl
And then Rusheel jumped into the fray
Afraid to be left out and sent off astray
With a mighty sigh and a boiling brain
Ateet and I set off to them restrain
And the next night I had my moment of high
In none but Ateet's arms, oh lord why?!
And interspersed in these bouts of joy
Came the learning tracts at ISRO ahoy!
And obviously we had each portfolios a many
None that shall sell for over a penny
But the one thing that sealed the mirth
Were the train rides both back and forth
With those sleepless nights of playing games
Mafia and cards and those bloody charades
Catching the sunrise from the moving beast
And the countless theplas, oh what a feast!
Then with broken backs and voices sore
We alighted at Dadar to groans galore
But with a happy smile and memories a many
To lighten our lives on a rainy day any!

Road to Pilani...

With a harassed mind and an anxious step,
We climbed aboard the train, a nervous wreck.
But as we began to sit back and chill
We let ourselves cheer the thrill
That joyfully ran down our excited spine
In anticipation of the week ahead and the time
For we were on our way to a week of fun
Fun, cheer and sport in the sun!
With the name of our college on our back
And energy such, that we never hit the sack
Marched forth, we did, singing our songs
For that one brief week, together we belonged
The mornings began with Baba Viratkha’s yoga classes
And Miss Cosmo began to enload the masses
We linked our hands and screamed us hoarse
And cycled around, and let joy take its course
Then came the time to ready ourselves for the sports
In style, led Mastur and Tendulkar, with their peculiar pose
We battled our hearts out on the courts
We won some; we lost some, as the maxim goes
But so engrossed we were in cracking jokes
On Dhoklu and Dhannan, that the loss didn’t evoke,
The pain one normally thinks will come
For we were more concerned about what would become
Of the new-found romance between Sir and Bakasur
Or no.8 and no.19 of the team next door
So, all in all, Sunil and Sujoy’s work came to fruition
For the days retired with a lasting sense of elation
And so, in peaceful bliss, the week passed by,
And we alighted at Mumbai, with but a tiny sigh!
